One Connection to Larger Impact

Bridget B, Vice President of Park City High School, reflects on how one connection she made at a GlamourGals visit led to a greater impact on her life.

During my second visit, I met a sweet lady named Shannon. We hit it off quickly and bonded over how she was a teacher and how I was in a class where I could student-teach for first grade, the same grade she taught. She talked lovingly about her family and the places she's been. While talking to her, I felt like I was talking into a mirror from the future. I was able to paint her nails a sparkling pink to match her watch and shirt. . For the first time in my life, I realized how impactful I could be; I never thought before that anything I did could be so significant. I went home and couldn't stop thinking about the impact I have made. Shannon showed me the value of being present and being kind. As much impact I might have had on her life, she undoubtedly had more on mine. I want to spend the rest of my life working to be the best version of myself, because even painting someone's nails can be the biggest act of kindness. She is a constant reminder to give everything my full efforts, and continue working on serving others. Apart from my relationships with the seniors, the girls in my chapter have made quick and amazing friends. I can not express my gratitude for this club, all the lessons and relationships built have been truly outstanding.
