Finding My Voice Through GlamourGals

Kaitlyn C, PR Officer of Bay Port High School, reflects on how GlamourGals gave her the opportunity to find her voice through chapter leadership.

Before GlamourGals, I was a very reserved and overwhelmed teenager. It was hard for me to properly speak with others. Becoming the Public Relations Officer was a giant leap out of my comfort zone. However, my fellow chapter leaders make it a pleasant experience by always being there for me. Every question of mine was answered, my anxiety was never overlooked, and I was always greeted by smiles. The members look up to me for advice and help. I shifted from barely being able to talk to a single person towards talking to 50 during our all member meetings.

Over the course of my entire time in GlamourGals, my very first nursing home visit resonated with me the most. My voice and hands were trembling for most of the visit. However, all of the older women and members were so gracious. It made me realize that it wasn’t as frightening as I thought it was. Due to my love of public relations, I’ve decided to go to College for Marketing. Marketing, which involves a lot of talking and persuasion. Shocking. I would have never guessed that I would love talking so much, if it weren't for GlamourGals.
