Learning Perspective Through Connection

Srikarthi J, President of Smithtown High School East’s chapter, reflects on how GlamourGals allowed her to learn from new perspectives.

Looking back on visits to nail painting, bracelet making, and relationship building, I know I have made an impact. . What I didn't anticipate was how transformative this would be, not just for the seniors but for me. It came from something simple: sitting down and listening, just being there and hearing their stories. Perspective is the gift of growing older. They just needed someone to listen, and they engraved that perspective into 18-year-old me. Experiencing these perspectives has been so profound, and will stay with me for a long time. It has changed the way I view life and all it has to offer me. Thank you, GlamourGals and these women, for allowing me to grow through stories and connections.
