Confidence Through Compassion

Yamilet M, Vice President of the Atlantic County Institute of Technology chapter, reflects on how GlamourGals allowed her to grow into a more confident version of herself.

Through my involvement in GlamourGals, I began to grow into the most confident version of myself. I proudly serve the role of vice president by leading formative presentations during our club meetings, networking in GG events, and taking initiative. I work behind the scenes by creating emails, contacting businesses, placing supply orders, and fundraising for our school to attend the annual GLTI event . During a visit, I met an inspiring woman named Katherine. She explained how she often feels forgotten but in this case I made her feel valued. Hence, this experience has taught me the act of prioritizing the importance of my girls by leading with inclusivity and trust. I'm fully confident that GlamourGals has empowered me to lead with empathy, confidence, integrity, and resilience. Through my involvement in GlamourGals, I began to grow into the most confident version of myself.
